With Chameleon Zoologist continue the theme of tropical habitats full of heavenly exotic flowers. In this perfume you can experience them as a little creature with independently mobile eyes traveling in the thick lush canopies past plumeria blossom, ylang-ylang and other exotic blooms of the island of Madagascar. There are further fragrant hints as to the geographical location of the plot: accords of sea breeze, coconut, mango as well as the notes of vanilla and vetiver.

Inner War is an amber carnival of too-muchness, a stop at the candy floss stand, a ravenous kiss on the big wheel. This extrait is a billowing cloud of talcum powder and almond, suggesting delicate heliotrope. Curling like tendrils into the air is a phantom, licorice-like anise, adding freshness and subtle weirdness. Rose supplies the syrupy “mmmmm” that glues together ambroxan, vanilla and patchouli.

Circa 1900, the cook for the governor of Queensland was in a jam. Asked to rustle up a dessert for last-minute guests, he improvised by cutting up day-old vanilla sponge into squares, then rolling them in chocolate and coconut. The guests were impressed, and “Lord Lamington” went from being a governor to an Australian culinary tradition, and now to a perfume. This edp features the treat’s strawberry, cream, coconut and chocolate, tempered by the crisp aromatics of bergamot and clary sage. The amber drydown lets you know you’re wearing a perfume and not a cake.

THE INSPIRATION

In 1977, the year I was born, Helmut Newton immortalised Charlotte Rampling in a series of photos entitled Venus in Fur. A feline and supersensual woman embodies sexual power: emancipated, she takes possession of her body and asserts her desires. Echoing the sexual revolution and its bohemian patchoulis, the perfumery of the 70s distils a chic eroticism, all in suggestion, where heady white flowers pierced by green, powdery and aldehydic notes anchor the fragrances of this decade in a glamorous sophistication.

THE PERFUME

Dialogue with Venus opens with a white floral accord evoking the luxurious and exacerbated femininity of the 70’s, while its fruity, silky and solar vanilla is treated according to the codes of the House of PIERRE GUILLAUME PARIS. Subtle exotic sprays flow through this floral melody like a wind of freedom, suggesting a mischievous and sexy “je-ne-sais-quoi”, an effortless chic.

This gourmand-tinged tropical says “hello!” with a fruity-sweet kick-off. Bergamot, coconut and tonka bean set you in the sunshine, before a gently-enveloping tuberose suggests a South Pacific escape. Jasmine and ylang-ylang harmonise, while an emphatic praline accord sugarcoats the experience.

In Inca mythology, “Ukhu Pacha” (ookoo paka) means the place of intuition, dreams, and the subconscious — a total letting go! This eau de parfum is an invitation to join the circle, dance and celebrate together to the rhythm of tamboradas (drums).

Light, sand, dreams of faraway places. This creamy tropical floral is built around insinuating jasmine sambac and tiare, fleshed out with coconut and vanilla. A sun lotion accord conjures bare skin gleaming on the beach, while sandalwood lends comfortable milkiness.
