New from Arquiste Time Travel Sessions: Medieval Italy and Art Deco London

Carlos Huber creator of Arquiste, visited us again for a second olfactory time travelling event.

We celebrated the launch of two new scents: The Architects Club and L'Etrog Acqua

As The Architects Club is inspired by the Art Deco fumoir at Claridges we adopted a 1920s theme for the evening, decorating the shop with small juniper trees and serving G&T!

The Architects Club is a warm vanilla suffused with a smoky, intimate atmosphere whilst L'Etrog Acqua offers a new interpretation of the original, taking the unusual citrus from a warm Calabrian evening to a bright Calabrian morning. Carlos painted the setting for each scene, giving a rich and highly detailed description of the different aspects of each moment in history that inspired the new scents.

Carlos guided us through the process of creation whilst giving personal insight into why he loves working with perfume and the different processes and stages the creation of a perfume goes through. We smelt raw materials such as Mexican vanilla absolute, oakwood, cedrat and angelica root! We also learnt about rarer ingredients such as gaïac wood and a new synthetic derived from cedar called ambermax which was first used in Aleksandr and forms the base of The Architects Club
