Tips

Your fingertips are the best tools to apply the product.

Unlike powder products, the fluid texture of Natural Defining & Contouring Liquid is very easy to blend. Always start with a smaller amount as the shadow can be easily built up.

Prep your skin with a primer (we suggest using Skin Perfector, particularly if you don’t need additional coverage). If needed, apply foundation and then the  Natural Defining & Contouring Liquid to areas of your face, neck and décolletage that you wish to visually deepen by enhancing the amount of shadow:

  • along the hairline to re-shape your forehead;
  • right at the temples to make the area appear more narrow;
  • under the cheekbones to emphasize or add to their definition;
  • to the sides of your nose to visually alter its width or length, although this is not likely to look entirely natural in real life and is a more an option for photography, in particular black and white; for Instagram photos and for stage make-up;
  • to re-model your jawline and neck;
  • to emphasize your collarbones;

Contouring is about very simple rules:

  • by deepening the shadow underneath a feature, we can let the feature appear larger;
  • by adding shadow to a wide, flat area, we can let the area appear narrower.

Strategically adding an illusion of a shadow makes for more defined, interesting looks.

Of course contouring is ideal with dramatic or stage make-up, because heavy coverage can make any face look unnaturally flat and wide.
