Cirebon by Paul Schütze

Paul Schutze’s Cirebon fragrance is inspired by the memory of a night spent on the island of Java, sitting at the edge of a resting lake while the sounds of a gamelan orchestra drift over and across the water, hovering in the stillness and isolation of the air like a constellation of shimmering insects.

It’s a fantastically juicy and citrusy thing, balancing the bitter notes of petitgrain and bergamot they’re wonderfully set off by the sweetness of bigarade orange, that rarefied aspect of orange blossom and the wholesome creamy punch of magnolia. Teamed with cedar, sandalwood and vetiver there’s a real lightness to the woody aspect of the scent making Cirebon a very unique and wearable prospect indeed.
