Herbalist formulas: EL by Arquiste

It’s a perfume in a style that goes back to the times when the border between perfume, skincare and medicine was very blurred and these blends would be purchased from an alchemist/pharmacist somewhere in the windy narrow streets of the 17th century City of London. EL features bay, geranium, clary sage, cinnamon leaves and more. It’s a beautiful dark rich herbaceous blend with some smoky background as if the herbs used in the composition have been hanging by the low ceiling and thus acquired the smoky touch from the lab burner and the fireplace.
Top notes: Greek laurel leaves, clary sage, Moroccan rosemary, Egyptian geranium.
Heart: cardamom, cinnamon leaves, orange flower water, black buckwheat honey.
Base notes: patchouli, oakmoss, vetiver, castoreum, civet, fougère accord.
