With Chameleon Zoologist continue the theme of tropical habitats full of heavenly exotic flowers. In this perfume you can experience them as a little creature with independently mobile eyes traveling in the thick lush canopies past plumeria blossom, ylang-ylang and other exotic blooms of the island of Madagascar. There are further fragrant hints as to the geographical location of the plot: accords of sea breeze, coconut, mango as well as the notes of vanilla and vetiver.

So sway on a branch of ylang-ylang with Chameleon while being caressed by a spicy vanilla breeze from the Indian ocean.

THE INSPIRATION

In 1977, the year I was born, Helmut Newton immortalised Charlotte Rampling in a series of photos entitled Venus in Fur. A feline and supersensual woman embodies sexual power: emancipated, she takes possession of her body and asserts her desires. Echoing the sexual revolution and its bohemian patchoulis, the perfumery of the 70s distils a chic eroticism, all in suggestion, where heady white flowers pierced by green, powdery and aldehydic notes anchor the fragrances of this decade in a glamorous sophistication.

THE PERFUME

Dialogue with Venus opens with a white floral accord evoking the luxurious and exacerbated femininity of the 70’s, while its fruity, silky and solar vanilla is treated according to the codes of the House of PIERRE GUILLAUME PARIS. Subtle exotic sprays flow through this floral melody like a wind of freedom, suggesting a mischievous and sexy “je-ne-sais-quoi”, an effortless chic.

A sweet fragrance with floral and balsamic notes that comforts, transports and illuminates. Its exceptional bouquet envelops us in softness and transports us to an eternal summer.

A pile-up of contrasts: cinnamon along with tropical florals frangipani and ylang ylang, against the earthy bitterness of artichoke and leather. This almost-gingerbread, almost-cement perfume confuses the senses with its animal/vegetable/mineral mystery.

This fragrance is a prism refracting light into a splash of colors. A beam of ivy, lilac and lily of the valley illuminates a sandalwood and white musk milky way.

Native to Central America, vanilla is an orchid which lives as a liana hanging off trees in humid tropical forests. Wild vanilla harvesters roam the dense jungle to find the precious vanilla fruit.

Cultivating vanilla pods is hard and delicate work. Each flower has to be pollinated manually by a master pollinator, impregnating each flower with a finger. This process is actually called “marriage”.

Several varieties of vanilla exist, and the most vibrant is the vanilla tahitensis. The fruit ripens naturally without human intervention, spontaneously releasing the typical warm, exotic and sweet notes.

Nosy Be... sounds like a motto for an inquisitive perfume lover. It is, however, the name of a tiny island north of Madagascar. It's an island specializing in the production of patchouli, ylang-ylang and other magical fragrance materials for the perfume industry

One of the specialities of the island is ylang-ylang extract. Ylang Ylang Nosy Be is a tribute to both to the birthplace and the rich dramatic aroma of the flower. 

Light, sand, dreams of faraway places. This creamy tropical floral is built around insinuating jasmine sambac and tiare, fleshed out with coconut and vanilla. A sun lotion accord conjures bare skin gleaming on the beach, while sandalwood lends comfortable milkiness.
