The cool night air dissipates under the sun’s first rays. The ripe citrus in the field has absorbed all the water of the morning dew and the farmers are ready to work on the misty green fields, speckled by the bright yellow of the citron. They leave their woody cabin and take a deep breath…

This “divine flower” is a luminous, untamed floral that captures the serenity of nature in motion. It starts bright and light: lemongrass and passion fruit, opening up to peony and lily of the valley. Watery, ethereal cyclamen drenches the richness of jasmine, ylang-ylang and narcissus like dew over a meadow. The drydown is green, a mingling of eucalyptus and sage with peppermint, juniper and pine, grounded by 
Mysore sandalwood and a hint of vanilla bourbon.

Matilde Bonaparte, niece of Napoleon I, was known for her breasts (“le plus beau décolleté”) and her talent as a painter. She also hosted a celebrated 19th-century Parisian salon attended by the greatest artists and writers of her time. This namesake perfume is an olfactory salon of provocative white florals (ylang-ylang, narcissus, jasmine) given tropical succulence with passion fruit and papaya. I was inspired while visiting Kew Gardens in London in May. Every May there are hundreds of blooming magnolia trees in different sorts, sizes, scents and colours. Usually it is a very rainy season and my inspiration was to create a scent of the water and rain on magnolia trees.  

The symbol of this modern perfume is an American modern dance pioneer Ruth St. Denis. She is not only a very talented performer, but also very feminine.

Chaco is the second largest primary forest of Latin America, called the "impenetrable forest" for its incredibly dense formation. This Paraguayan forest is the only place in the world where gaiac wood grows, known locally as palo santo. The region is also prized by perfumers as source of petitgrain essential oil, as well yerba maté tea leaves. Chaco the fragrance is a cologne style built around a refined tea structure. Perfumer Alexandra Monet placed the petitgrain and maté in conversation with each other, heightening each other’s mellow greenness in the process. Palo santo, with its woody, salty and smoky facets, brings warmth and sensuality, resulting in a unique unisex signature with lightness and modern elegance.
