Cafe - J-Scent - Bloom Perfumery

A poetic coffee perfume, conjuring the charms of a mid-century coffee shop in the Showa era. The contrast of the bitterness of roasted coffee beans and the sweetness of orange blossom supplies the sparkle, before the caramalised drydown of musky vanilla brings the mmmmm!

All about this fragrance

Vibe check

An unhurried afternoon conversation, with the bitterness of coffee lingering between sweeter impressions. Cafe suits that close, quietly flirtatious register: citrus and flowers keep the opening lively, while vanilla and musk bring the warmth of a meeting that lasts longer than planned.

How to wear

Try it in mild or cooler weather, when the roasted coffee and vanilla contrast can feel especially inviting. Start with one or two sprays on skin for a restrained effect; in warmer conditions, apply lightly to keep the sweeter base from dominating. Allow the citrus-floral opening time to settle before judging the coffee accord.

Who it’s for

For those who enjoy coffee fragrances with floral lift rather than straightforward dessert sweetness. Its bitter–sweet balance will appeal to tastes that sit between gourmand comfort and softer citrus-floral compositions, with vanilla, musk and cedarwood providing a warmer foundation.

J-Scent’s story

J-Scent translates Japanese culture, landscapes and everyday smells into fragrances that evoke familiar scenes and remembered feelings. Made in Japan, its collection finds expressive subjects in ordinary life; Cafe captures the atmosphere of a retro coffee shop rather than simply reproducing a drink.

Cafe’s concept

Cafe takes its inspiration from bitter coffee served in an old-fashioned Showa-era coffee shop. Roasted beans and sweet orange blossom establish the central contrast, while a caramel-like impression of vanilla and musk carries the nostalgic romance of the concept into the drydown.

Extra info

The Japanese name, 珈琲, means coffee. Although the finish is described as caramel-like, caramel is not a separately listed note: the official base consists of vanilla, musk and cedarwood. Cafe originally launched in both eau de parfum and perfume oil formats.
