Bloom Perfumery General Terms and Conditions
Please read this carefully. By making a purchase by the means described below you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Bloom Perfumery.
This document was most recently updated on 28 March 2024.
1. Purchase
1.1 Bloom Perfumery Ltd ("we", "us" or "our") operates a boutique located at 4 Langley Court WC2E 9JY London ("in store", "the store") and a website at bloomperfume.co.uk and bloomperfume.com ("online", "websites"). All purchases made in store or on the website are governed by these Terms and Conditions at any time although the Terms and Conditions governing any given purchase will be those in effect at the date of your order or specific use.
1.2 We sell goods only to end-users and reserve the right to limit the number of pieces sold to one customer at one time in store or online. In a single order it will be possible to buy three pieces of each particular item in each particular size and concentration.
1.3 Orders can be placed in store and online at bloomperfume.co.uk or bloomperfume.com.
1.4 We can process orders for anywhere in the UK and we also ship to the EU and rest of the world. Please refer to paragraph 2 'Delivery' for more information.
1.5 We will confirm acceptance of your order placed online either by message on the website immediately after you have confirmed your order, or by us sending an email to the address you have provided to us.
1.6 Should you need to cancel an order placed online, you will need to call us on +44 (0) 207 240 0338 or write to bloom@bloomperfume.co.uk and we will refund your payment. If the order has already been dispatched we are unable to do this and you will have to follow the returns process once it has been delivered to you.
1.7 We reserve the right to terminate any transaction that we believe to be fraudulent or not genuine. We may explore legal action in the event of criminal activity.
1.8 Bloom Perfumery credit notes and gift certificates can be redeemed in store only.
1.9 All items sold and shipped to customers are new and unused. Some perfume producers have stopped using plastic/cellophane and use other means of making packaging tamper proof (seals, bands, paper sleeves, etc.) This is becoming a trend. We do not accept complaints such as “there was no plastic wrapping on my perfume, I think it is not new”. We endeavor to put extra notes in the shipments explaining the producer plastic policy when circumstances and workload permit.
2. Delivery
We deliver worldwide.
Prices of products and services
The prices stated on the website will be inclusive of any VAT payable and are displayed in £(GBP).
Delivery. Options for courries, cost, timing and other details
If you country is not among destinations to which perfumes over 1 ml can be delivered we still can organize special cargo shipping on a case to case basis for large orders. Please write to bloom@bloomperfume.co.uk with a delivery address and items you are wish to purchase so we can prepare a quote.
Customs, duty and taxes.
For customers from outside the UK the courier will take care of the customs formalities and will send you an email or text asking to pay import duties. Certain countries do not have any taxable levels in terms of value of goods you can import, some countries have quite a low threshold and you will have to pay import duties before receiving the goods.
Please check with your relevant national authorities. You shop without the UK VAT at Bloom if you are based outside of the UK but you have to be aware of your national customs/import rules.
If you refuse to pay your national import duties and your order is shipped back to us because of that - you will be responsible for the shipping and administration costs.
Delays caused by customs formalities.
Bloom Perfumery cannot be responsible for delays caused by national customs in a particular destination. If customs in your country delay the progress of your order neither courier nor us can speed things up. Couriers aim at a certain delivery estimate; however, you need to understand that customs are independent and have no concern for estimated delivery times.
Tracking

Other definition of a working day
By a working day we mean Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Orders placed after 12.00 will be shipped next working day if the express courier option is selected. Thus orders placed on Friday after 12.00 are shipped on Monday. For Royal Mail delivery times vary from 2 to 7 days depending on if there’s a weekend interfering as well as on how busy the post office was on the day we took post there and if they were able to process it same day.
Dependent on the volume of orders and business in store Bloom Perfumery cannot always guarantee that orders received will be posted that same business day; however we endeavour to post all orders received within 1-2 working days regardless of the delivery option selected.
Backorders
We offer customers the option of backordering fast-selling items. Some products are very popular and may become out of stock very quickly. However, when we know that the new stock is on its way we offer online shoppers the convenience of placing a backorder: meaning we will ship the order as soon as the new stock arrives.
Usually, a product on backorder will be shipped within 7-10 working days and the customer won’t need to check the website continuously to see if a particular product is back in stock.
Please note that if you are ordering several items some of which are on backorder we will only ship the order when it’s complete and all items come in stock. To get the items available for immediate delivery faster please order them separately from items on backorder (as these take 7-10 days to ship).
3. Methods of payment
3.1 Apart from when in store, all payment must be made with either a debit or credit card and PayPal. In store we also accept cash and Bloom Perfumery gift certificates and credit notes issued in store.
3.2 The debit and credit cards accepted by us are those listed on the web site on the date on which your order is placed.
3.3 You agree to compensate us in full against all reasonable costs expenses and outgoings incurred by us in obtaining payments from you in the event a failed payment occurs. This will include an administration charge of not less than £20. We may at any time after a failed payment has occurred ask a debt collection agency to collect payment from you.
3.4 If you shop from abroad and your bank account is not in GBP/£ your bank might charge you the currency exchange fee. This fee is beyond our control and is your responsibility.
4. Returns
We endeavour to ensure your purchase reaches you intact and not faulty, if on the rare occasion your order arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us by calling the shop on +44 (0) 207 240 0338 or write to bloom@bloomperfume.co.uk to resolve the issue.
We offer a return policy of 28 days granted the original product packaging remain intact and not tempered with. Your returned goods need to be sent to 4 Langley Court, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 9JY. Please allow 5-10 days after we have received your products for the refunded money to enter your account. We will keep you updated of this process as it is happening. Please also include your invoice as proof of purchase.
In no circumstances can we offer a refund, a credit note or exchange goods that have been tampered with, opened or used (unless they are faulty). For this reason we strongly recommend that you make use of the sampling service while purchasing a perfume. So that you can test a small amount in a sample before compromising the integrity of the original product packaging. Once opened, perfumes cannot be returned for subjective reasons.
We do not accept returns of samples.
Physical vouchers (paper card invitations) for bespoke perfume mixing sessions need to be returned before a refund can be processed.
Please note that you are responsible for packing the returns well and we won’t be able to accept back goods damaged on their way back to us because they have not been cushioned well or at all.
If you simply changed your mind and wish to return your purchases, the cost of shipping the goods back will have to be covered by yourself.
In the very rare circumstances when the goods might have some manufacturers fault we will organize a pick up by a courier at no cost to you (this excludes orders shipped by Royal Mail). Once such returns reach us we will start an investigation and contact the manufacturer. These cases are dealt on one by one basis and you will be updated on the progress.
Please note that dropping a glass bottle and smashing it does not qualify as manufacturer’s fault. Perfume bottles are fragile objects and require careful and considerate handling and when dropped they break.
Plastic/celophane wrapping not present - please see pharagraph 1.10.
5. Online Privacy
We will not share your card details or personal details with any unauthorized third party. We have a system in place where by we make sure our online shop is a secure web destination, should a malicious third party gain access to your transaction details we hold no liability. Read the complete privacy policy here.
6. Special offers discounts and promotions
6.1 From time to time, and in our complete discretion, purchases of goods may be subject to special offers. In the event that such a special offer applies to your purchase, the terms of such special offer shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions. If there is any conflict between the terms of a special offer and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail unless specifically excluded.
6.2 As a general rule, discounts from different promotions cannot be combined and added up. Only one discount can be applied at a time to online orders and/or purchases in store, this will always be the highest discount available. For example, if you have a promo code giving a 10% discount and there’s an ongoing 20% off sale then only the higher 20% discount can be used.
6.3 We may change the terms of special offers, or withdraw them altogether, at any time and without prior notice. Subject to availability of the stock, we will honour at the offer price any order placed by you before an offer ends, or is amended or withdrawn.
6.4 We reserve the right to offer in our complete discretion different customers different special offers, promotions and the ability to enter different competitions.
7. Sampling service
As is often the case with complex, layered perfumes, a customer may need hours, if not days to fully appreciate and decide on a fragrance. Bloom Perfumery offers an opportunity to purchase small samples of perfume for you to take away and try, they range from 1 to 1.6 ml, depending on concentration and are subject to availability. The amount of samples is limited to 1 sample of each particular fragrance, per customer, at a time. Bloom Perfumery does not sell decanted perfume i.e. divide volumes as provided by a manufacturer into lesser volumes. Therefore, selling more than one sample of the same fragrance to one customer at any single time is against our policy. We leave it to our discretion to cancel continuous repetitive orders of samples of the same perfume(s). A refund will be made in due course in this case.
In case when perfume houses provide free samples we reserve the right to limit the number of free samples to 5 unique items (i.e. they have to be samples of different perfumes) per customer in order be fair to other customers.
Free samples are subject to availability and are only available in store at 4 Langley court. If certain items are unavailable or have never been available in the first place and Bloom Perfumery has to produce a sample — this service comes at a fee.
With online sample orders we limit the number of samples to 10 per account per month and to one sample of any particular product per order (that applies to skincare and make-up as well). There are several reasons for that. Firstly, although we believe in ‘try-before-you-buy’ in case of beautiful complex fragrances, 10 unique samples can last you well beyond a month.
Secondly, as mentioned above we are a perfume boutique, not a decant service. Our samples are priced very reasonably and are there only to help customers to make up their mind before committing to a large bottle. We leave it to our discretion to cancel continuous regular orders of dozens of identical samples going to the same postal address.
We do not accept returns of samples.
Sample pack subscriptions
It’s possible to subscribe to monthly supplement of perfume samples delivered by post.
Subscription includes 12 samples packs (the number of samples and particulars are specified in each subscription) which a customer will receive monthly starting from the month following subscribing.
In case a customer wishes to unsubscribe a credit note will be issued calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the remaining number of months.
The sample packs will be formed according to season, best sellers statistics and gender (if the latter option is specified and requested by a customer).
Nose Club
A Nose-members Only Club enabling customers to get decants of perfumes from Bloom Perfumery’s collection of niche houses twice a month for 6 or 12 months.
The perfumes members can pick from are subject to 1) availability, 2)brands’ policy (some require stockists not to ever make samples/decants of their perfumes), 3) also pure extraits by .vero.profumo., Anna Zworykina’s perfumes, oil based and solid perfumes are not available to club members for technical reasons.
The membership doesn’t expire in six or twelve months if you cannot pick up you decants for some time. Rather than having to get a certain number of decants within a certain time period you buy the option of getting 12 or 24 perfumes but no more often than twice a month.
We reserve the right to add to the club’s terms and conditions as the service develops, but changes will only affect members joining after the changes have been introduced.
8. Bespoke Perfume Mixing Sessions
Bloom Perfumery offers a unique opportunity to create a truly bespoke perfume. During a 1 hour workshop the customer will have access to dozens of real professional perfume bases that perfumers use in their labs and will be able to create step by step his or her own perfume.
The workshop assistant will be offering guidance as to quantities of ingredients to be used but it will be ultimately the customer’s own choice as to which ingredients to pick and what style of perfume to create.
The result of the session will be 50 ml of EdT, a unique personal mix.
General health and safety notice
The perfume bases supplied by Bloom Perfumery have all been certified by a professional perfume laboratory and are compliant with the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) regulations. The Customer acknowledges that the bespoke perfume they create during the Bloom Perfumery Bespoke Perfume creation may contain a combination of ingredients that exceed the recommended levels stipulated by IFRA. Bloom Perfumery do not advise that you create a perfume which contains ingredients that exceed the recommended levels stipulated by IFRA as such a perfume may cause toxicity and allergen issues.
