Dominique Ropion is known for combining meticulous construction with generous scale, particularly in floral compositions. His work includes Portrait of a Lady and Carnal Flower for Frédéric Malle, fragrances that demonstrate his command of patchouli and tuberose. In Forgive Me, he brings those materials into a leather composition enriched with white flowers, incense and labdanum. He also created Carine for the house.

Forgive me’s concept

Forgive Me explores duality and attraction: the discovery of a less familiar, more uninhibited side of oneself rather than a documented romantic episode. Its patchouli and incense also echo Roitfeld’s scent memories of visiting Indian shops with her mother and burning incense while listening to David Bowie.

Forgive Me launched in a deep-purple bottle. Its official note list names Tunisian orange blossom, Indian tuberose and Indonesian patchouli without dividing them into a conventional top, heart and base pyramid.
