Markéta Maf is the perfumery name of Czech writer and artist Markéta Baňková. Her approach draws on real-life smells, using unexpected materials and deliberate contrasts rather than conventional polish. For High to Lotus, she brought artichoke, lotus, oud and seaweed into a composition that balances bitter, sweet, salty, cool and damp impressions.

Space Fluid’s story

Space Fluid treats perfume as an artist-led work encompassing scent, bottle painting and presentation. Its unusual but wearable compositions explore memory, emotion and familiar smells in unfamiliar combinations, using both botanical materials and synthetic molecules. High to Lotus grew from the challenge of reconciling artichoke, lotus, oud and seaweed without erasing their differences.
