His approach here combines landscape-inspired accords with careful material selection: rosemary sharpened the green character, while a patchoulol-rich patchouli helped increase diffusion without adding excessive earthiness.
Collaborators
Kajal co-founder Moe Khalaf helped shape the initial creative direction, discussing a fresh, crisp aquatic concept with Heimgartner at Esxence 2022. An experimental sample the perfumer already had became the starting point for their development work.
Kajal’s story
Kajal connects perfumery with inner beauty, grace and craftsmanship, drawing on Arab-world geometric artistry for its visual identity. Its eight-pointed star cap expresses balance and harmony, while jewel-inspired concepts translate those values into fragrances with distinct sensory personalities.

Masa began as a green-aquatic experiment before it acquired its diamond-inspired name. A summer visit to Scotland’s Gulf of Corryvreckan prompted Heimgartner to develop an aromatic, resinous sea-breeze accord. Successive trials refined the balance, with blind testing favoring sample 5D. The finished concept links the diamond’s many facets with the fragrance’s contrasting freshness and warmth.
