Honeydew melon chunked out with orange segments, a squirt of lemon and a sprig of mint. Summery and sharp, this EdP finds its footing with a grounding of cedarwood, vetiver and musk.
All about this fragrance
Vibe check
An unhurried afternoon with the windows open and chilled melon on the table: Nature Insolente suits that relaxed, outward-looking mood. Its citrus and mint bring a lively edge, while the woody base keeps the fruity sweetness from becoming the whole story.
How to wear
The citrus, mint and melon profile lends itself to spring and summer, especially mild to warm days. Start with one or two sprays on the neck or forearms; keep application light in heat, allowing the cedar, vetiver and musk base to balance the bright opening as it settles.
Who it’s for
For those who enjoy juicy fruit notes but prefer them sharpened by citrus and mint rather than made dessert-like. It also suits tastes that favour light floral touches and woody, musky foundations over dense sweetness.
Release year
2021
The nose
Philippine Courtière.
Collaborators
Mathilde Purseigle created the bottle illustration, giving the fragrance’s nature-led concept a visual identity through its beetle motif.
Maison Matine’s story
Maison Matine approaches perfume as a shared creative project between perfumers and illustrators, favouring inclusive, unisex compositions over traditional codes of luxury and seduction. Its graphic bottles carry distinct visual stories, while organic wheat alcohol and recycled, recyclable packaging reflect the house’s stated environmental commitments.
Nature Insolente’s concept
Nature Insolente belongs to Refresh, a collection shaped by the restrictions and emotional upheaval of the pandemic period. Its concept centres on nature reclaiming its place and people reconnecting with instinct and simpler pleasures, expressed through bright citrus, honeydew melon and a grounding woody base.
Extra info
The official note list treats “honey melon” as a single ingredient, rather than separate honey and melon notes. Nature Insolente is part of the Refresh trio alongside Lost in Translation and Poom Poom, and its eau de parfum has a stated fragrance concentration of 15%.
