Nosy Be... sounds like a motto for an inquisitive perfume lover. It is, however, the name of a tiny island north of Madagascar. It's an island specializing in the production of patchouli, ylang-ylang and other magical fragrance materials for the perfume industry.

Patchouli Nosy Be is a tribute to the tropical humid shade loving plant that when distilled lends an ambery, dark, leathery and almost chocolate aroma - patchouli.

Naturally, it's the precious patchouli from Nosy Be in the perfume in the company of dense vanilla, dusty schinus molle and dry sandalwood.

A voluptuous amber built around the formidable floral trio of magnolia, peony and Bulgarian rose. Adding spice to the headiness is nutmeg and cardamom, and the lusciousness is heightened by a custardy vanilla, with a playful wink of tangerine. Technically tonka are nuts as they come from a tree (whereas a bean is a seed of a legume). ‘Tonka beans’ is a misnomer but also phrase used to refer to them in perfumery, cooking, etc. In Happy Nuts tonka is key note contributing to the delicious nuts roasted in caramel fragrant idea. The name could be a suggestive euphemism or just a reference to tonka being promoted to their accurate botanical rank – nuts.

An invisible tattoo of the tropics, glowing on warm skin.
