A new project with Bertrand Duchaufour and a landscape artist/photographer Martin Hill.

The same way in which Martin goes to a sight and rearranges what nature left there into an installation, the perfumer rearranged some molecules and materials to put the beauty of a natural material into focus.

Also Martin aims to let his stuctures to be absorbed back into natural chaos. Perfume evaporates into the environment in a similar fashion, beautiful but transient.

In Chypre Shot all the focus is on a classic chypre effect (citrus - tart flower- dark woody background). However, the traditional rose is replaced with peony and for the signature dessert gourmand touch of his, Bertrand throws in a delectable coffee and cardamom combination.

The structure and image which were the conceptual inspiration for the perfume are below. It's a mysterious, rich haze full of the sweet scents of a meadow. There is also a nod to oakmoss (one of the pillars of the chypre architecture).

The Riviera. The Mediterranean fills the horizon. You’re driving along a coastal road with the roof down, feeling free. In this extrait, lemon caviar, zesty ginger and icy cardamom puts jut in your strut, while tomato leaf, neroli and black tea summons an aromatic dance. Frankincense and cypriol offer shade in the sunshine.

Inspired by Tawain’s blockbuster beverage: sweet milk tea shaken with tapioca pearls. This eau de parfum suggests the drink's complex flavors: roasted black tea, rich brown sugar, creamy milk and soft, chewy boba. A dusty, honeyed floral note lends sensuality.

The Daintree in Australia is the oldest rainforest in the world, whose 180 million years of existence has seen the comings and goings of dinosaurs, ice ages and early humans. It’s a haven for birds, butterflies and bats, and all manner of mosses and ferns — up to 3,000 plant species in all. Daintree Rain Tea pays gentle tribute to this vast nature reserve with a soft and clean blend of balsamic buddha wood, grassy apple-tinged chamomile, and ethereal blue lotus root. An accord of rain-dappled leaves and damp earth lifts up the pleasing rubber nuance supplied by black tea. A haven of a fragrance.

El Caminante, Spanish for “the wanderer”, is a nomadic fragrance that pays tribute to the flâneur’s stroll, the urban pilgrimage in search of self-knowledge. This extrait is an invitation to travel, to seek experiences, thanks to the propulsive cadence of Ceylon black tea and a lightly smoked suede. The experiences along the way include cardamom and saffron, with fruity nuances of dried plum, date and honey. Luxurious iris absolute adds depth, accompanied by vetiver, sandalwood, tonka bean and labdanum.

Evoking the traditional smoking of tea leaves in ancient China, Indigo Smoke is an aromatic landscape of narrow serpentine rivers, blue mountains and incense-filled temples condensed into a complex formula of black tea, woody notes and incense. Rich, sophisticated and long-lasting. With notes of lapsang souchong tea, mandarin orange, apricot, guaiac wood, incense and pine tar.

An unexpected fragrance, a contrast of spicy, fruity and tangy notes, pinioned by the creaminess of tuberose. Ginger and cardamom play with the taste buds, while the delicate aroma of black tea blends into a warm milk accord.

Perfumer: Spyros Drosopoulos

A perfume transporting you to a majestic eucalypts and mimosa forest full of sunshine. A fun fact: eucalypts can align their leaves in such a way so that there no shade, mimosas just fold their leaf tassels into neat noodles. This protects them from sunburns. Amidst that imaginary animated forest there is the sweet fuzzy musk theme to introduce koalas into the formula.

The perfume is soft, radiant and with interesting interplay between cooling notes of mint and eucalyptus and sweet musk, spicy incense and ambery sandalwood.

No animalic products in the formula.

Konya Kolonyasi opens with a bright burst of bergamot. Crisply fruity and aromatic, it evokes old Turkish barbershops.

Then there is the juicy technicolour cherry note inspired by the orchards surrounding the city of Konya in the blessed Central Anatolia. 

In the base, black tea settles softly on the skin, recalling the endless glasses of Turkish çay (chai) shared throughout the day. 

Deep, comforting and slightly bitter.
