A shot of fruity mezcal collides with precious cacao absolute for a fragrance that’s fiery and intoxicating. Mezcal Chocolate is shaped by Mathis Molinié, digital tastemaker and head chef at Restaurant Philippe in Rouen. It opens with sparkling lime oil and chili pepper, deepened by olibanum from Somalia and an ultra-rare Rhum extract. The cacao’s creaminess melts into a bed of woods: Virginia cedarwood and cypriol oil from India, adding a dark, earthy glow.

Spirals of sandalwood smoke, love letters and curses, white chocolates in pockets, a moment of softness, razor-edged nails, tiered chandeliers, a glimpse of the moon high in the sky, a whisper on lips that turns into a 4am surprise.

Named after a very old native red grape variety from the French Jura, this sophisticated gourmand iris is built on an exceptionally high concentration of Bavarian iris germanica. This iris glows with woody and fruity-floral notes — and hints of cocoa and coffee. A gourmand perfume with an exotic twist. The core theme is bitter cocoa dusted with pepper. Even though we think of cocoa and chocolate as amlost the same sweet thing, cocoa powder on its own has more of an ambery, bitter woody and deep aroma rather than sweet chocolate vibes.

Perris took cocoa absolute and and styled it the Aztec way - no sugar, just the bitter tonifying glory.

Perfumer: Mathieu Nardin

Whrereas the EdP option smells drier and has plenty of puffs and mini explosions of black pepper, the extrait version of Cacao Azteque is much more animalic and naughty (perhaps heavier on cacao and sandalwood).

Perris are rebalancing each composition for the extrait version. They shift the focus from the top notes to the base raising the amounts of base ingredients to achieve a richer, more opulent and luxurious effect. Pure indulgence in the theme.

A confident magnolia in the company of solid sweetness of a toffee apples accord, white amber and pears. If neon pink color had an aroma this would have been it.
