A beautiful dedication to iris and the alluring woody powdery aroma extracted from its rhizomes. Rhizomes are the flower’s creeping rootstalks which it sends under the ground to spread around.

It takes about 1000 kg of dry rhizomes (carefully dried and cured for 4 years) to produce just 2 kg of iris butter (also called orris).

It’s truly precious - Marie Jeanne spent about a year going through 160 attempts before arriving at their perfect blend of several iris extracts: butter of iris Florentina and iris Pallida and absolute of iris Germanica. Absolutes are derived from butter to achieve a fresher character.

Their goal was to create a modern, refined iris perfume and to depart from dated powdery violet interpretations.

Very few perfume houses have access to the ingredients of the same caliber that Marie Jeanne have used so generously in their Iris Pallida. The perfume is 28% strong, very diffusive but at the same time tantalizingly delicate.

The crown jewel of the formula, the blend of orris extracts, is set on a pedestal of sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver. Iris Pallida is an elegant and sensual modern iris perfume, meticulously blended from the most refined raw materials available to perfumers at the moment.

A radiant woody perfume with an intriguing name. Is it match as in a box of matches? The perfume does possess that dry wood and cardboard vibe escaping from a box when you take a match out. Or is it a match with your skin? There is a lot of musky sandalwood and veil-like ambroxan that together create an alluring clean super-layer hovering over your skin. Or match as in new love?

Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own —the practice of taking space for yourself to think or create. Succulent pear and cozifying ambrette notes form a bright pool of sunlight around carrot seed, orris and warm cashmere. A melting embrace.

204 perfumer Domitille Michalon says, “I imagined a sunny fragrance bursting with sweet figs over creamy sandalwood; a nap in the shade when the sun is beating down. I added a touch of green, a touch of nature, like a crunchy edamame bean.”

A novel citrus dedicated to calamansi (aka Philippine lime). This peculiar fruit grows in the tropical forest of the Philippines. Calamansi is a bit like a lemon, but is green on the outside and yellow on the inside, with a rich, diverse fragrance palette, at once sparkling and luscious.

This sweet and zesty (at the same time) note plays the lead role in Citrus Noir and is paired with dry exotic incense.

Delulu is a soft-focus dream sequence in oversaturated colours, swirling across a soundtrack of shoegaze and nineties/noughties indie.This particular sequence follows childhood into adolescence: a favourite toy, a pack of crayons, a melted sweet in your jeans pocket, a bite of berry pie, a long sunny day doing nothing. There’s fizzy cedrat and the salty-fresh friction of tart rhubarb against rooty vetiver. Like all dreams, things get weird: a niff of rosy plastic and smoky incense. Yesterday is a place you can never visit again, but it’s still an escape from tomorrow. That’s Delulu.

Delulu bottle caps are hand made from memories, specifically a nostalgic jumble of plastic beach toys captured in epoxy resin.

An electrified lily-of-the-valley spark, modern molecules reanacting a vintage theme. Also a romantic scented scetch on kings giving in to the magic of love.

"The curtain rises on a state at the corner of 69 rue des Archives, in the Marais, Paris. A place that is like a frontier, where the old world ends and the new world begins. The pale moon can be seen lowering over the towers of Notre Dame in the distance. A man and a woman are in a perfumery, surrounded by bottles. He has yielded in submission to a fallen sovereign and is condemned to the ultimate fate. She is the new soul, the new role, she is desirable and she has conquered. She is the denunciation, a touch condescending. The fluttering of her eyelashes declares she is the one whose hour of glory has arrived, a scent testing blotter in hand."

This is a fragrance that disrupts from within. After a disarmingly fresh opening of blackest pepper and greenest galbanum, Hermann takes a dark turn into incense and wet’n’dirty rose. The result is a transparent, woody leather.

The name means “immortal saints”, and this eau de parfum is a timeless white floral that conjures sunshine and joy. Blood orange and Champagne fizz out of the top, swirling around lavish tuberose and heady jasmine grandiflorum. The holy trinity of Cashmeran, ISO E Super and ambroxan creates a base that clings to skin, fabric and memory.
