The young traveller returns, memories of adventures still visceral in the mind. The quest for nirvana never satisfied. Relaxing fumes and plumes of woody smoke follow him. Gentle spices, sweet elemi and enriching patchouli tones give a richness to this aromatic green perfume. 

Moonlight on wet cobblestones. A bottle of white wine in the pocket of a suede coat. White flowers and kissed skin. Cherries and cigarette smoke linger on warm hair. The punks are in charge.

Terram captures the Mediterranean embrace of autumn. The path winding up from the beach is silent. Sweet aromatic notes of dry soil and clifftop pines float in the air. A haze of ambery benzoin and dusty patchouli settles over musk. Warm, woody, still — this is a fragrant mood that comforts and lulls. 

Opening with sparkling notes of lime and mandarin tempered with pink pepper and a green accord, delicate cherry blossom with soft almond aromas enhanced with powdery violets and creamy vanilla. Cool herbs, the sweetness of anise, the warmth of a boozy flame at the bottom of a glass. Blue Flame begins in that glass. It opens bright and bitter, like lemon peel twisted between the fingers. Mint leaves and dry coriander seed steadies it. Then comes sambuca, the anise liqueur that lingers with chilly sweetness, shadowed by bitter/herbal Mugwort. Vetiver and cedarwood trace the outline of dry wood, and benzoin resin adds a low hum. Finally, white musk emerges, turning this cool customer into a warm, languid skin scent, its sweet herbs still held within.

An enigmatic being, seen by locals in the late 1990s wandering the Swiss woodlands of Maules, dressed in a camouflage cape and a vintage gas mask. No one knew if they were woman or man, or even human, but this 6’3” creature was always observed picking and smelling flowers. When the cryptid disappeared forever after ten years of sightings, Le Matin reported that the mask and the cape were found in the forest, along with a note signed “Fantôme de Maules”. 

This olfactory tribute summons the forest that was the stranger’s haven: green leaves, galbanum, lavender, oakmoss and vetiver. A scent that’s part barbershop, part woodland escape. Who was this “ghost”, anyway? We will never know, because they don’t want us to. The modern world is alight with information and the shadows are shrinking. So here’s one for perfume lovers who don’t feel it necessary to explain themselves.
