The name means “immortal saints”, and this eau de parfum is a timeless white floral that conjures sunshine and joy. Blood orange and Champagne fizz out of the top, swirling around lavish tuberose and heady jasmine grandiflorum. The holy trinity of Cashmeran, ISO E Super and ambroxan creates a base that clings to skin, fabric and memory.

As always, Perris go for the best materials they can source from around the world. They procure the citron (citrus medica in Latin) right where it originates from the province of Cosenza, Calabria, on the southwestern coast of Italy. The diamante citron is uniquely non-acidic citrus with a fresh and sweet flavour. It is often used for culinary purposes, so you might catch a bit of a cute citrus candy or limoncello in the aroma of Cedro di Diamante.

At one point in the 80’s, citron was nearly abandoned by perfumers because of the high content of furocumarins, which had become restricted. Modern technology enables perfumers to extract the citron oil without furocumarins, and the citron note can now be enjoyed in perfumes again.

The Riviera. The Mediterranean fills the horizon. You’re driving along a coastal road with the roof down, feeling free. In this extrait, lemon caviar, zesty ginger and icy cardamom puts jut in your strut, while tomato leaf, neroli and black tea summons an aromatic dance. Frankincense and cypriol offer shade in the sunshine.

Combining the power of the forest with the magic of the animal world, this extrait’s bergamot and lime opening leads to an unexpected wander through ginger, cinnamon and iris. Pergola opens with the most incredible rush of twisted green vegetation and instantly transports you back to the heyday of that decadent walkway. There is so much happening in here but the notes of galbanum, bergamot, and ivy are particularly spectacular. The floral heart is a swooning blend of narcissus, tuberose, and jasmine but the pergola’s passage of history is provided by an earthy pairing of patchouli and vetiver. You get a real impression of its heritage from touches of resins and moss and, whilst it’s described as a fougere, there is definitely a feeling of the most glorious aromatic chypre.
