In the aromatic universe, osmanthus sits somewhere between tart, punchy tobacco, strong tea, and animalic oud.

Perris is fascinated by nature’s fragrant treasures and make perfume materials THE story of each of their perfume. So much so, that they experiment with the same perfume material in different perfume architectures: eau de parfum and extait.

How does this work? In Absolue d’Osmanthe EdP, osmanthus is of course the main theme, but balance is shifted to the top (proportion-wise there is more pepper and jasmine in the blend). So the EdP is dry and spicy.

The extrait version of Absolue d’Osmanthe is heavier on the base notes of vanilla and labdanum. The extrait is creamier and more leathery compared to the spicy EdP.

This fragrance is inspired by love, drama and opulence of the famous painting by P. P. Rubens and the legend of Samson and Delilah. Osmanthus Noble is intense and has a strong personality and notes of Osmanthus, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine absolute flowers, spicy tobacco, warm amber and sandalwood.

At opening you can feel fresh, spicy and aldehydic notes blended with bergamot and mandarin that give vividness and intensity.  The noble osmanthus absolute combined with an aromatic clary sage play together to form a soft suede accord. Tobacco absolute, delicious black cherry, saffron and tonka beans play an important role in creating a sensual atmosphere. Floral notes of jasmine sambac and ylang-ylang give vitality and bloom in the heart. In the dry down, oakmoss absolute, labdanum, sandalwood, smoky vetiver and animalic musks bring a spiritual feeling and allow the perfume to linger on the skin.

A battle royale between jasmine and oud, where everyone’s a winner. Oud in White opens on a zest of pear, ginger, and raspberry, before revealing its true intentions with jasmine sambac’s shocking sensuality. Peachy osmanthus fleshes out the fleshiness, and resinous labdanum and milky sandalwood makes the slide into leathery Cambodian oud irresistible. Between the twinned forces of indolic jasmine and barnyardy oud, this one’s for connoisseurs of the finer side of skank.

The wild side of the indomitable goat swirling with the learthery darkness of the mountain roads. Inspiring and carnal, Smoky Soul features smoked black tea infused with Osmanthus absolute with fruity accents of apricot.

Black tea, extracted with supercritical CO2, is smoked with Java Vetiver essence, which brings out facets of burnt hot wood. Black pepper enhances the spicy and black notes of the tea while a trace of seaweed absolute accentuates the mossy, savory and mineral notes of some Chinese teas.

The largest Chinese community in Italy is located in the Tuscan city of Prato. The main drag, Via Pisoiese, is an “everything everywhere all at once” bustle of Chinese signs, 24-hour restaurants, holiday-bright colours, white Porsches emblazoned with Hello Kitty. The street is accidentally hipster, underground on purpose, eccentric by nature — reflected in this fire horse of a perfume, Cavallo di Fuoco.
