Stone/lid: Giallo Siena, Tuscany
Make a name for yourself. A rush of possibility: eyes wide, heart full, head spinning. Coy florals and spices try sophistication on for size, dressing up the sweetness of youth with elegance and earthy refinement. Old Hollywood glamour meets contemporary character, sparkling with fresh curiosity. Sidewalks lined with trees & wild thyme. The scent of striking out, on your own, in the big city. The thrill of seeing your name in lights. A fragrance for singular characters, hopeless romantics, and incurable optimists.
Tradition, thoughtfulness, and authenticity are part of the DNA of the Side Story brand. You might call it ‘slow perfume’: we take time to source xceptional ingredients, use handcrafted glass and stone packaging, and collaborate with legacy perfumers and manufacturers. There are perhaps easier ways of doing business, but we think that you can sense the difference when you hold a Side Story bottle in your hand, feel its weight, and take in every nuance of its scent profile.
Nawab of Oudh by Ormonde Jayne £220.00
- Key notes:
- ambergris
- bergamot
- cardamom
- hedione
- oud
- pimento pepper
- Aromagroups:
- green
- leather
- woody
Nawab of Oudh is part of the Four Corners of the Earth collection and represents India, the land that gives us oud, a plethora of spices, and so many beautiful flowers.
The name of the perfume can be interpreted in two ways. It’s a literal reference to the rich history and culture of India: hawab or nabob meaning ‘the ruler’, and Oudh the historical name of the modern day Uttar Pradesh region. However, given the current fashion for oud perfumes, you can interpret the name “the oud to rule them all’.
Nawab of Oudh has the complex architecture of many ingredients, surrounding the oud heart deep within. And on the way there, you will travel through layers of cardamom and other fresh spices, extravagant garlands of exotic flowers, the sea breeze of ambergris, and more.
The elixir is also exceptionally concentrated, at 42% - hence the 'intensivo' in the title.

Cigar boxes. Camden market bong shops reeking of joss sticks. Old lady soap. Sandalwood sometimes gets a bit of a bad rap. Undaunted, we’ve taken the dependable old fave and turned it on its head.
We’ve tracked down a unique Australian sandalwood versatile enough to handle hints of outlandish but ethically and sustainably sourced banana, cardamom, black pepper with weird and wonderful Labdanum and Benzoin resin. Which all means that this is sandalwood unlike anything you’ve experienced before.
So, unlike the bong shop, it won’t make your hair stink for weeks.

Important notice:
Anna Zworykina’s blends are olfactive smellscapes (but neither aromatherapy, nor ‘spray-and-go’ perfumes). Her blends are sensory experiences, closer to works of art created in the scented plane (rather than, say, visual or audio).
Certain essential oils and absolutes that are used in her 100% natural perfumes may potentially cause allergies in some people. Please spray Anna Zworykina’s blends on fabric (on sleeves, scarves, etc.). This said, Anna Zworykina has acquired a huge fan base over many years and people interacted with her blends for quite a while now. We are not aware of any reports of any skin reactions so far.
However, Anna advises that those who are prone to allergic reactions, pregnant and nursing women, as well as people with chronic illnesses to be extra careful. Before trying natural blends, study the list of ingredients and consult with a doctor if you are not sure or a had a history of allergies. If you do decide to put these blends on your skin (unable to resist the temptation) always test the blend on the inside part of your elbow first and wait.
Do not spray these blends liberally as a cloud in the way you would spray a conventional perfume. Anna’s smellscapes need to be… carefully applied and experienced. Be mindful that some oils can also make your skin hyper-sensitive to UV.
