The perfumer: Prin Lomros (also the creator behind PRIN, Prissana and Strangers.)

The story: Mystical, mysterious murmurings glide upon a blanket of inky sky. Shadows smear across the moonlight, their darting journey shrouded in darkness. Bats, the only mammal capable of true flight, are enigmatic and alien.

The formula: a vivid sparkly green maze paved with vetiver, decorated with tart jungle fruit and lots of earthy shadows. 

Prin is also the perfumer of the latest Zoologist's character: Sloth

An intense, smoky herbal blend that, like all of Anna's creations, will transport you to an imaginary landscape.

It's inspired by Cossacks, the soldier-farmers who live in the steppes in the south of Russia, accomplished horsemen guarding the borders since the days of Catherine the Great.

You are welcome to devise your own story, but here at Bloom, we imagine a young Cossack resting among haystacks and wild herbs, smoking his clay pipe while contemplating the starry sky. His friends are sitting by the open fire nearby. Smoke is wafting through wild thyme and wormwood.

August 1508, Lopud Island, Adriatic Sea

A sunny island in the Adriatic, a small harbour with stone houses and fig trees. Across the verdant Mediterranean hills sprawls an aromatic landscape of cypress stands, pine, rosemary, thyme — and olive groves with their subtle, nutty scent.

The quiet majesty of the deer is undeniable as he stands aloft the dry forest, watchful and ready. Aromatic herbs, spices and aged bark reflect the fresh mountain air as it swirls around the energetic herd. Musk, leather and hay illuminate the powerful glory of the wild animal whilst smooth and earthy patchouli softens and relaxes. 

A rustic sauna on a windswept beach. Outside, the air carries salty ocean waves and the bitter burnt wood of extinguished bonfires. Inside, there’s mineral steam, herbal tinctures and damp skin. Rare ambergris and a cluster of exotic ouds suggest seaweed, leather and sex.

DÔL translates to meadow and is pronounced "Dole".

Homage to a traditional fougere opens with restorative bergamot and grapefruit before settling into the soft and velvety notes of lavender and hay. This niche perfume its redolent of meandering through Welsh meadows, grounding vetiver echoes the fields of ORTIR.

The most radical revolution is the one within. Re-Evolution surprises and liberates with its sweet earthiness. Muddy patchouli, the watery muguet of Aqual and the smoky leather of Orcanox align with amber and marine notes to lead you to the deepest transformation possible: inside the ocean of yourself.

Perfumer: Cristiano Canali

Nocturne is a startling coming-together of unusual elements: red wine, leather, roasted coffee and pistachio. Blackcurrant — bright, acrid and somewhat minty — lends a whiff of petrol when combined with oud. Nocturne’s effect is rich, green, dark and weird.

The third volume in the Revenants series takes inspiration from the works of architect Nicolas Hawksmoor (1661-1736) whose foreboding structures define London's urban landscape even today.

Hawksmoor - referred to as ‘the Devil’s architect’ - continues to provoke interest for his distinctive churches, which introduced elements of Egyptology into traditional ecclesiastical settings. These curious architectural details, and his recent reputation as a Freemason has prompted speculation that occult symbolism influenced his methods, and imbued his designs with an inherent ‘terror and magnificence’.

By contrasting darkness with invigorating complexity, perfumer Pia Long has combined a vivid olfactory impression of the man, his works and his myth. Accords of Somalian Incense, dry woods and wet stone meld with opium smoke, papyrus and kyphi, underpinned by a base of Haitian vetiver and precious resins. 

The product’s packaging bears a representation of Hawksmoor’s celebrated work – Christ Church Spitalfields in East London.

This woman is on a journey, a quest to discover the answer to that eternal mystery – where is love? She peels away the layers of her private needs, her personal longings.
