A new project with Bertrand Duchaufour and a landscape artist/photographer Martin Hill.

The same way in which Martin goes to a sight and rearranges what nature left there into an installation, the perfumer rearranged some molecules and materials to put the beauty of a natural material into focus.

Also Martin aims to let his stuctures to be absorbed back into natural chaos. Perfume evaporates into the environment in a similar fashion, beautiful but transient.

In Chypre Shot all the focus is on a classic chypre effect (citrus - tart flower- dark woody background). However, the traditional rose is replaced with peony and for the signature dessert gourmand touch of his, Bertrand throws in a delectable coffee and cardamom combination.

The structure and image which were the conceptual inspiration for the perfume are below. It's a mysterious, rich haze full of the sweet scents of a meadow. There is also a nod to oakmoss (one of the pillars of the chypre architecture).

It’s a delectable amber with focus on the gourmand aspect of that ancient perfume recipe. Usually, an amber mix would require a resin (labdanum, benzoin, etc.), patchouli and vanilla. In Beso Canalla this sweet component often represented and highlighted by vanilla was extended to many dimensions. It starts with gently sweet bergamot, descends into caramelized a sugar accord in the heart and dries down into a sweet sandalwood and amber amalgamation.

In the Beso perfume trilogy this formula represents the relaxed afternoon when you have had your early morning swim and are now gathering energies for the night out ahead (chilling in the sweet shade with an ice cold orangeade, feet buried in warm sand).

Perfumer: Dominique Moellhausen

The spirited country girl arrives in the bustle of the city, determined to change her status to “anything but innocent”. That’s Sweet Lure, bubbling with naughty possibilities. Cinnamon and lily-of-the-valley swirl in a bamboozling haze of neroli and vanilla, keeping things alluring but fun.

Ourte’s signature vanilla, inspired by toasted waffles and caramel popcorn. Coffee with nuts, coconut on top, soaked in the finest rum. With one dirty ingredient – castoreum – that sets your senses on fire. Live crispy, play naughty.

Inspired by the traditional Provençal sweet Calisson, an almond-shaped paste of candied fruit topped with fondant icing. This edp launches with bergamot and sugary milk. Fresh orange blossom radiates from the heart, supported by a warm and creamy sandalwood. Base notes of caramel, vanilla and musk complete the mouth-watering effect.

Aomassaï is a combination of amer (French for bitter), oriental and Maasai (a reference to the fact that the fragrance had been inspired by Africa with its dry seasons and bushfires as well as voodoo magic). All the ingredients come in some kind of roasted, grilled or burnt state to create a somber and bitter fragrance, a perfect “olfactory bitterness”.

Succumb to the indulgence of Vanille Crème, a gourmand evoking the richness and tenderness of homemade custard. The bergamot and cream opening recalls the velvety scent of freshly made crème anglaise. The heart reveals vanilla, enhanced by a touch of caramel and buttery notes. In the base, enveloping notes of vanilla, musk, and sugar snuggle with sweetness.

Perfumer: Tomoo Inaba

Rich and gothic Moth starts with a heavy dose of dark spices to jolt your senses before settling into a dusting of honey-sweet rose and powdery florals. Slowly, it tests its wings, taking flight on an exotic journey of nagarmotha, guaiac wood and patchouli. Beneath it all lingers a smoky undertone that serves as a constant reminder to fluttering creatures of the danger in the tantalizing flame.

Honey, rose and boozy vanilla combine in a delectable amber that turns sticky into licky. This eau de parfum blends an abundance of golden honey and the warmth of rum with an irresistibly addictive vanilla absolute. Damask rose and pink pepper unfolds into the warmth of tonka bean absolute and benzoin resinoid, beckoning anyone who approaches with seductive allure. Patchouli and orcanox adds further depth, revealing darker tones that envelop the room with a euphoric embrace.
