A road lined with cedars. The fresh morning air. The dense silence of the forest. Blueforest blends the dry freshness of cedarwood with the vibrancy of black pepper, creating an immediate woody-spicy tension. Chypre-Mousse was first launched in 1914 for the dandies of the new century, and this iteration reinterprets a classic fougere with contemporary materials. In the silence of the Alpine peaks, the scent of juniper berries rises, sharp and fresh, over the crisp bite of winter air. Pine trees stand tall, their resinous warmth mingling with the cold, while the soft whisper of sun-dried hay carries a hint of summer pastures. This fragrance echoes the wild contrast of the mountains, where the chill of snow meets the quiet warmth of the earth.

A Mistpouffer is an unexplained natural sound, a sonic boom like distant cannon fire that seems to come out of the fog over large lakes or rivers. It has been recorded all over the world throughout history, and is the source of many legends. Despite scientific attempts to understand the sounds, its source has still not been identified. Possible explanations include solar winds resonating in the atmosphere, underground earthquakes or gas bubbles being released from the deep. Others believe it is the work of extraterrestrial or subsurface civilisations.

Rendering this mystical water thunder as a fragrance was as elusive as the sound itself. We spent four years and hundreds of iterations before finding the right balance between being distinctive and inexplainable. The honeyed hay of immortelle dapples sunshine across deep green siblings vetiver and cypriol. It’s foggy but not aquatic, smoky but not heavy. Natural, but in equal parts supernatural.

Pine! It’s soooooo pine. Camp fire smoke and fresh cold air combine in a fragrance both bracing and comforting.

Inspired by the serene monasteries of Russia, where silence, snow, and incense create a mystical atmosphere. A blizzard of white aldehydes set the scene, swirling around clove-like pimento, cold/minty hinoki wood, and evergreen pine. The incense here is a cold smolder.

The Via dell’Incenso was an ancient trade route for the passage of incense, spices and other luxury goods from South Arabia and the Horn of Africa to the Mediterranean world. This namesake perfume evokes the storied journey with a dance between chilly incense and cushy cashmeran. The result is a cold fire beneath incense, lemony elemi, brisk pine and charred guaiac wood. Any sharp edges are padded with cashmeran, ambered and velvety.

The lone wolf roams the forest at twilight. Strong and resilient in the face of cold, crisp and hostile woods. Vetiver and pine evoke the dark green atmosphere, whilst plums and davana allude to the spicy energetic power of the wolf. Cedarwood and pepper are beautifully balanced with leather, with tonka beans adding a herbaceous bitter richness to the fragrance. This original EdP version offers a leaner, more frankincense-forward iteration to the bass-heavy extrait treatment.
