A rich incense perfume inspired by the millennia old practices of using fragrant smoke as a gateway to a mystical dimension. Sorong is a geographical reference to Indonesia, the materials in the formula are the metaphorical scented references to the rich smoke produced by oud, resins and spice mixes burned in the far away temples to honour mysterious deities.

In fleeting top notes Myrtle, fragile as the promises of love, encounters the preciousness of saffron, merging into an indomitable desire for eros.

The luxuriant notes of honey are exalted by the jasmine night breeze that pervades the home of the chaste lovers, among the frescoes, on a thalamus of rose petals.

The mysterious notes of incense and sweet vanilla blend with the oriental contamination of amber and labdanum that fades into the ancient aroma of agar wood, sealing the essence of Castiamanti, expression of rich Pompeii.

ORLO (edge in Italian) is latest and second creation of Versi Studio, an olfactive poetic mysticism trilogy from Mendittorosa exploring the relationship between poetry and perfumery.

Chapter 2, ORLO is inspired by Edge, a poem by Sylvia Plath.

The perfume is behaving like magic fiery serpent breathing intoxicating incense fumes and sending sweet citrus zest sparks as it progresses through a fantastic fragrant dimension.

Genesis, Concept and Creative Design: Stefania Squeglia

Multifaceted and elusive Crown Jewel can portray cold ouds and warming spices all at once. Indian oud harmonises with sweet saffron and the aromatic refreshing tones of cypriol. Warm nuances are created by amber and vanilla which are layerd and balanced by a background of woody sandalwood and green pine. The effect is oriental and leathery giving a rounded and rich diffusion.

Extrait Noir sings deep, warm incense with soft vanilla and floral geranium and patchouli. Exquisitely mysterious with hints of leather and animalic notes. The fragrance is dark, captivating and elegant.

Two years ago I received a trial fragrance by Luca Maffei which was characterized by an incense note I really like. We have been working on that note, finishing it and making it sensual until we arrived at the final project, that I completely love.”
